Each tire is stamped with all the data you need to see if it's an appropriate fit for your motorcycle. The typical size designation, as shown in the diagram, indicates the tire width (in millimeters), the aspect ratio (see below), the speed rating (see below) and the rim diameter (in inches). For example, the 180/55ZR-17 shown below is 180mm wide, has an aspect ratio of 55%, is speed-rated for category
"Z", has a radial belt and fits a 17" rim.
We encourage you to put the manufacturer-recommended motorcycle tire sizes on your bike's
wheels - the factory engineers decided on the tire sizes for a reason. Mounting a tire size that isn't recommended may compromise handling and safety.
